Hello everyone ; My name is James A. Best
. I am a published author with two books out so far. They are both fictional accounts of the stories I have told inside the covers. My first book is called : A Walk in Time. This is about a transient type who has seen lots during his life. His name is, Ben Crowley. He had wondered what life had in store for him especially when he was in jail. He had grown up on the wrong side of the tracks. Never having known any other way of life but always desiring some thing more. You will have to read this story for yourselves to find the exciting and intriguing ending. My second Book is called ; The Haunting of Marcasite. This is about a small western town being haunted by ghoul and werewolf creatures who come out during the worst storms from spring to fall. When these attacks happen people are usually gone after the storms settle down. Some of these people are found in scenes that are not nice at all. Other people who also disappeared were never ever found again. These monsters took them away to some place maybe back to the prison in the Milky Way. A six year old boy named, Greg Braden is the only one who survives after actually seeing these ghoul and werewolf deadly beings. Greg lives with those images in his head all his life. They resurface after each storm through every year with the knowledge that he is the only living survivor of any attack on Marcasite. Now, you all will have to buy my book in e-book or e-pub or paperback editions. They are on 39,000 on line book store sites around the world. You might be able to go visit your favourite book store and ask them if they are in their book catalogue. Which I know they are or were as I actually phoned a lot of them around the world to check. that was a number of years ago after they came out.
I am a small town person having been born in a one room hospital. Back then towns could not afford anything else. The Town Doctor was busy all the time with broken bones , sprains, rashes, stings from bugs etc. My family moved around lots as my Dad worked construction. My parents had a large family for those times. We finally settled into life in one particular place. This is where most of family grew up and went to school. Our Mother was a School Teacher and taught in one room school houses. She was always able to assist us with our school homework. Nothing stopped her no matter how hard the questions seemed to us. She was also fantastic cook with her large brood of kids it was required. Those years of growing up will remain forever in my mind.
Writing was one thing I always enjoyed. It made writing exams like lit and Social Studies pretty good. Writing essays was another way to exercise the mind. My marks were another matter completely. Now I have some College Certificates and one Diploma with another Certificate not yet finished. One day I am going to go for a BA. Learning is a life long set of achieving goals we set for ourselves and I am not finished increasing my education.
